Rental Rate and Fee Schedule

It is not the intent of Evergreen Public Schools to compete with private enterprise in the renting of facilities.  The administration reserves the right to reject any application for use of a school facility when it believes a commercial facility should be patronized. Organizations seeking use of school facilities have been divided into three categories for the purpose of determining rental rates: 

GROUP I
YOUTH, SCHOOL-RELATED ORGANIZATIONS, DISTRICT EMPLOYEE GROUPS, AND GOVERNMENT AGENCIES:
This category includes non-profit organizations whose main purpose is to promote educational programs and/or other enrichment or recreational opportunities for boys and girls of the community. District employee groups and government agencies providing service to the community. Examples are Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, Education Association, Parent Teacher Organizations, and neighborhood associations. No rental fee shall be charged provided that additional staff is not employed to supervise or clean the facility. A season use fee will be charge to all youth sport leagues using District fields and indoor facilities. A rental charge may be established to recover utility costs or other costs which may be incurred.

GROUP II
NON-PROFIT EDUCATIONAL, SPECIAL INTEREST GROUPS, AND RECREATIONAL GROUPS:  This category includes organizations requesting use of school facilities for lectures, college courses, recreation, sports camps, sports conditioning, or other activities for which commercial facilities are generally rented and fees or contributions are received. Examples are Continuing Education classes, adult recreation groups, youth recreation sport groups.

GROUP III
PRIVATE AND COMMERCIAL ENTERPRISES: This category includes churches and church-related groups that intend to practice or teach religion in a school facility, private social groups, fundraising groups and other organizations utilizing facilities for self or corporate income. Examples are benefit performances, dance school performances. These groups will be charged full cost.

Use of school facilities for the purpose of financial gain is discouraged. Profit making groups whose activities are intended to advance business or corporate income shall be allowed use only when a private facility is not available. Such groups will be charged the prevailing rate by commercial facilities in the area.
