About Evergreen Public Schools
The Evergreen Public Schools recognizes that all students are unique individuals and that education is a developmental process. Our goal is to support, as well as challenge, each student at his or her developmental level. Students learn best when a variety of meaningful experiences are provided.
Evergreen is the largest school district in Southwest Washington with more than 25,000 students in grades K-12. The fastest growing large school district in the state for more than a decade, the landscape of Evergreen Public Schools seems to be in constant evolution.
Heart of the Pacific Northwest
Evergreen is situated in the heart of the Pacific Northwest among the region’s abundant outdoor and cultural offerings. The district is located on the north bank of the Columbia River, east of Vancouver, and directly across the river from Portland, Oregon.
The metropolitan area of Vancouver and Portland is the 28th largest in the country and repeatedly ranks among the most livable areas in the nation. Residents enjoy the attractions of a big city while maintaining that " small-town" feel.
The Northwest features lush forests, wide-open green spaces, and spectacular natural settings. The Pacific Ocean, with its pristine coastline and public beaches is within 100 miles of the district, and Mt. Hood, only 60 miles away, has some of the best downhill and cross-country skiing in the country. Hiking and biking opportunities are everywhere; the Mt. St. Helen's National Volcanic Monument is a brief drive north; and the Columbia River Gorge National Scenic Area begins just to our east. Only minutes away is the Vancouver/Portland metro area, where entertainment ranges from professional sports, musical concerts, and theater, to numerous outdoor festivals and many other attractions.
